Things not to miss in your visit to Belfair
If you only have a few hours to spend in Belfair, here are some ideas on what to see and do while you are visiting.
- Visit Theler Wetlands: Take a leisurely stroll through the Theler Wetlands and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The wetlands offer a variety of walking trails that showcase the local flora and fauna.
- Grab a Bite to Eat: Head to one of the local restaurants or cafés for a quick meal or snack. Popular options include Wise Guys Italian, Burger Claim, and The Hideaway
- Have a Drink: Belfair hosts the award winning Mosquito Fleet Winery as well as local brewery, Bent Bine – both locations are a great place to while away the day.
- Visit the Salmon Center: Check out the gardens, animals and interpretive displays at this waterfront farm open to the public daily and for events.
- Explore Local Shops: Browse the unique shops and boutiques. You'll find everything from handmade crafts to antiques and souvenirs. Stop by the White Barn for some unique gifts.
- Visit Belfair State Park: The park offers beautiful views of Hood Canal and is a great spot to relax and unwind. You will need a Washington State Discover Pass.

A Day In Shelton
Also known as “Christmastown, USA” owing to it’s rich history in Christmas trees. In December the streets light up with holiday celebration and a historical mural of a 32’ tall Santa greets arrivals from the South. Shelton was once served by a fleet of steamboats. Traveling down Hammersley inlet on the tidal currents, these ships delivered supplies. Tugboats still ride these tides to deliver throughout Puget Sound. There is plenty shopping and dining in Shelton’s downtown.

Hoodsport is a seaside town perched on the western shores of the Hood Canal beneath the shadow of the Olympic Range. We like to go here for food and fun.
Itinerary Ideas
8:30 AM Breakfast at the Tides Restaurant. Home cooked delicious breakfast with great ambiance.
10:00 AM Check out the shops in the city center's main strip.
11:30 AM Stop in at the local market and check out the deli for picnic items
12:30 PM Picnic at Staircase Entrance to the Olympic national Park
1:30 PM Afternoon hike in Olympic National Park
4:00 PM Visit High Steel Beer, Hardware Distillery or Stottle Winery for an after hike local tasting!
5:30 PM Head over to Porto De Angeles for dinner -- be sure to try the Three Amigos Seafood trio!
7:00 PM Evening hike on the beach (low tide) or at Hood Canal trail. Return to your waterfront lodging for some well deserved rest! Maybe enjoy a few freshly harvested oysters from Hama Hama Oyster Co.with the tasting you picked up earlier in the day. :)

- Watch the salmon return to the river at Hoodsport Hatchery
- Kayaking at Lake Kokanee
- Swimming at Potlatch State Park or Cushman Lake (also pools along Staircase)
