Hiking & Relaxing on the north shore of Hood Canal

Hoodsport is perched on the western shores of the Hood Canal beneath the shadow of the Olympic Range. Here you will find lots of great cottages and rooms to rent and plenty of fun hikes to explore.

Places to stay:

Things to do:

  • Check out the shops in the city center's main strip. Our favorites include Canalside and the new gallery, FlyWheel.
  • Explore one of many area hikes ranging from dog/family friendly easy to more difficult all day treks.
  • Visit Potlatch Brewery, Hardware Distillery, Hoodsport Winery, orStottle Winery for an after hike local tasting.
  • Watch the salmon return to the river at Hoodsport Hatchery
  • Kayaking at Lake Kokanee
  • Swimming at Potlatch State Park or Cushman Lake (also pools along Staircase)
  • Waterfall hikes

Where to eat:

  • Breakfast at the Tides Restaurant. Home cooked hearty breakfast.
  • Picnic at Staircase Entrance to the Olympic National Park or Potlatch State Park; stop in IGA deli for picnic items
  • Porto De Angeles for dinner -- be sure to try the Three Amigos Seafood trio!
  • Try fresh oysters from Hama Hama Oyster Co, reserve an A-fram for ultimate picture moments!
